Professor LaCroix – New Year's Eve 2010
This New Year’s Eve I stayed in and enjoyed a homemade game ragu that had been cooking on the Aga all day. A contrasting change to previous years that have always involved going out and playing music in some shape or form. The evening entertainment was provided by Jools Holland’s Hootenanny that featured artists such as Vampire Weekend, Kylie Minogue and Rumer. Nice. Over the last few weeks I’ve been listening to recordings from various New Years Eve party that were staged around the world, one of those selections being from Professor Lacroix.
I’ve been a fan of the Professor’s productions for some time, featuring them heavily in mixes that have appeared on Cosmic Disco over the last couple of years.
Based in Los Angeles, Professor LaCroix was brought up on an eclectic diet of New Wave, Disco, Country, Funk, 60′s Pop, Easy Listening and Hip Hop. DJing from an early age has helped him forge the way for staging his own parties, along with the Mojave Desert parties. The monthly VIP area podcast is popular on Soundcloud, along with heads up previews of all his productions.
