Hunee - Tide Minnoch Rush Hour

Hunee – Tide / Minnoch – Rush Hour Records

Hunee is an all round nice guy, snappy dresser, great producer and incredible DJ to boot. Cutloose brought him to play in Manchester back in November 2010 where he kept the floor all night to a packed out crowd. I got to know Hunee over the weekend where we chatted extensively about music, shared some of our favourite record shop finds and moustache grooming techniques.

Whilst Hunee’s output isn’t as frequent as most producers, when he does share his work, it’s always something that delivers on all levels. Hunee played me some of the material he was working on at the time, and like the 2009 release, ‘Bobos in Paradise’, it shared that same fresh raw vibe that echoes through all of his releases.

Recently, Rush Hour Records have announced that Hunee will drop an album this summer, with a single preceding it imminently. The said single features two tracks, ‘Tide’ and ‘Minnoch, with the label describing the title track as a ‘mid-tempo burner that pulsates around an infectious analog synth line’, and ‘Minnoch’ described as ‘a playful, exotic work-out which sounds like a nightly trip through the jungle on a far-away island’. I’m not sure I could describe it any better.

It’s lovely to see some new material from Hunee and I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve heard so far. I wait in anticipation for the album to drop, meantime you can listen to ‘Tide’ and ‘Minnoch’ below.
