Cutloose present Paul Murphy [ Mudd ]
Categories: Words
Next week, Cutloose extend a warm welcome to Paul Murphy aka Mudd for our October jam. We’ve wanted Paul to play for us for quite a while now, so it’s great that it’s finally happening.
It was in the late 90’s when Paul alongside Steve Kotey in house outfit Akwaaba came to prominence with a series of quality releases on respected labels such as Noid and Bear Funk. Following this he released his own EP – ‘Adventures in Bricket Wood’’ on Ben Cook and DJ Spun’s label Rong Music in California which along with further productions such as the Claremont 56 album on the label were a major success. Subsequently Paul founded his own label – Claremont 56 which over time has spawned sister labels such as Sixty Five and Leng and in his own words is an independent label dedicated to releasing beautiful music. Claremont 56 is a big favourite back at Cutloose for both the diversity of productions and also the artists that contribute to the label. Ranging from experimental through to dancefloor friendly chuggers with artists such as Ahmed Fakroun, Holger Czukay through to the Idjut Boys and Brennan Green this focus on excellence is self evident.
Keep that autumnal gloom away and sport your finest with music across the board and a can do attitude.
