Whatever is original, different, risque and worth listening has space in his music selections. Mainly electronic music but open to disco, obscurities, bossanova, easy listening, muzak, plain minimal rhythms and abstract beats, re-edits, psychedelic folk... anything really worth listening that's not so commercial. Silvestre, based in Manchester, England, is not only the puppeteer behind the Sonorama blog, he is also a well-seasoned DJ since '95 and has played in different venues around the world including the Sonar Festival. He is about to start a PhD on the transnational history of Detroit techno and its nuanced relationship with globalization, technology and the music industry, contributing with ideas that are original and worthy to the field of cultural studies.

I am Niles. I like Bollywood versions of Disco tracks, Disco versions of Bollywood tracks and 80's Pop B-Sides. Myself and Simon provide audio commentary on the months music and events via the 'Makin Music' Radio Show and I can often be found cluttering up the dj booth with THP or Baggy at a venue near you. I also bombard the internet with news of my meals via http://twitter.com/cosmicniles

I’ve always found unique ways to feed my obsession with vinyl & second hand shopping since it was pointed that I might have a small compulsion with hoarding pieces of dusty round plastic and woollen cardigans. Being brought up on a diet of blue eyed soul and classic Stax/Motown gave me a solid background for my interest in all things musical resulting in several stints during my teenage years jamming with local (mainly bad!) art school bands. With over 15 years of dedicated record collecting I’ve had the honour of DJ'ing to festivals crowds at Snowbombing in France, Austria & Switzerland in addition to major parties at Sonar & Beachbombing in Barcelona and more recently Glastonbury 2009 within the Guardian Lounge and hosting and performing at the Futuresonic Festival. I've also been fortunate enough to have been invited to DJ at parties and venues up and down the United Kingdom. In addition to contributing towards this site and associated podcasts if you are ever in Manchester city centre you can catch me at one of our regular Cosmic Disco residencies at various city centre venues. Check out the 'DJ Dates' section for the latest info. Email me
