Lovefingers R.I.P

Lovefingers R.I.P

Lovefingers has been supplying us all, music lovers, a source of unknown obscurities and unsung gems since March 2006. However, as all good things in life, they come to an end when you least expect it. And that is the case with Andrew Hogge’s music blog, where words were not necessary to expose the incredible amount of musical output that has gone largely unregistered through the last decades, and that he made sure we all listened.

There are still some tracks available on the website, but they will disappear any time soon, leaving us all with a musical void that hopefully will be filled by someone else.

We have all gotten a good number of free tracks through him so why not return the favour by showing some support and getting his last 12? It is worth its price just for the fantastic picture disc, especially for the lady on the B-Side. It comes with three great re-edits, of course. Have a look at what all is this about here.

It seems these guys are dropping like flies of late. First Bumrocks, then Dream Chimney, now Lovefingers and if this wasn’t enough we have today read that another fantastically educative blog in Donna Slut is shutting it’s virtual doors as new projects and reports of others cloning the site have concluded in the guys behind the blog also deciding to call it a day.

Are we witnessing the first signs of the change in how music on the net is being regulated and policed?

We’d like to pass our regards onto the guys behind these sites who have no doubt ensured at some point or other we have dug out (And bought the records!) some real gems we would have otherwise missed.

Peas…
