Niles – Three Days on the Mountain
Posted on 20. Jun, 2009 by niles in Articles, Mixes we made, Music
Back in March of last year I did a mix of mellow, acoustic, west-coast flavoured rock.
Since then I’ve been buying more and more of that kind of music and every time I sit down to do a mix I inevitably go out and buy a great album the week after that makes me want to do the mix all over again.
Given that it was a year since I did the last one and we’re off to Glastonbury I thought I’d bite the bullet and put together just over an hours worth of laid back Americana and Folk Music.
Special mention must be made to Boozoo Bajou and Cosmic Jane who’ve both contributed great similarly themed mixes to the site recently that I really enjoyed.

I’ve included an .m4a which is iPod friendly and contains all relevant trackmarks and images and a lower bit rate .mp3 for those that fancy a smaller download.
Enjoy.

Nice selection!
Love this genre. Some many classic albums from that era (John Philips Wolfking of LA, Judee Sill, Dave Mason – ALone Together…the list goes on). My time travel machine would have a permanent setting for The Troubadour circa 1970).
There’s several modern bands producing neo-Laurel Canyon stuff (The Quarter After and Asteroid No.4 are currently doing it for me).
