LNA & Electric Minds w/Mark Seven & John Daly
Posted on 04. Nov, 2008 by baggy in Parties
It’s that time of the month where we scour the finest underground parties up and down the country and our friends in the south – Late Night Audio & Electric Minds have pulled yet another stonker out of the bag for their November (Saturday 15th) party which is held at Dalston’s excellent Visions Video Bar (Low ceilings, basement acoustics fuelled by a Funktion 1 sound system!) by flying over no other than the majestic Mark Seven and the emerald isle’s John Daly.
Put simply, Mark Seven is one of Cosmic Disco’s all time favourite DJ’s…
Ex-pat and now Stockholm resident, Mark is responsible for buying duties at the fantastic Jus’ Wax records, where he regularly flies across the pond to pick up the finest collections from a number of legendary DJ’s & producers to bring back specifically your spotting perusal. Cosmic HQ have have spent many hours scouring Jus’ Wax ticking off tracks from our wants list to log off a good few £’s lighter.
Renowned collector/buyer/compiler & editor, Mark is certainly no stranger to the underground music scene as his involvement goes as far back as the early 80’s, from promoting parties such as ‘Bizarre’ on the then fledgling Balearic scene, in addition to being a regular at the Rampling organised ‘Shoom’ events. In recent years, Mark has co-promoted ‘The Lodge’ and NY Social parties where he has introduced the likes of Prins Thomas & Phil Mison to the US scenes.
If this wasn’t enough, Mark is also responsible for the excellent Divine Edit 12″s on Creative Use (‘Higher’ being a classic ‘end of nighter’) and with further edits and original productions scheduled for release in 2009, his appearance at Visions is an opportunity to witness one of the finest purveyors of underground music around today.
LNA/Electric Minds dont do things by half. They have gone that extra yard by also booking Galway’s John Daly…
After several years producing his own music, John started Feel Music and has since had many successful releases on other labels such as Chatons Plak, Areal, Sublabel IRR and even Francois K’s Wave Music. Remix duties have been at the disposal of Compost and Rekids. On this evidence there is no doubt of John’s obvious quality. DJ wise it’d be obvious for us to state that John is a long time vinyl enthusiast who is known for spinning disco, deep house and techno in his sets.
Not only is John a regular on his homeland club circuit but he’s also had the honour of being booked to perform in clubs such as the infamous Panorama Bar in Berlin, Zukunft in Zurich with many other European bookings scheduled for 2009.
Warm up duties are provided by the excellent residents: Toby Tobias, Danny Clark and Dolan Bergin.
