Makin’ Music - September 2008

Utd lose. What a crying shame!

Determined to cling on to what little summer we have left Niles and Baggy set up camp at their north Manchester base camp for your September podcast.

An upgraded setup doesn’t stop them making a balls-up of proceedings but with the post-production power of Soundforge and Garageband meaning you wouldn’t guess it took two takes and a 90min respite (For Liverpool Vs Utd.) before we called time and closed the show for another month.

If only City could’ve beat Chelski the weekend would have been 10 on 10…

Nice spot Q - Thanks for the heads up.
Is it much different than the OG?
I’m guessing the intro has mainly been extended somewhat…

Nice one. That discoey track about the bloke getting shot in space was class.
Timpanis are those kettle drum things seen in orchestras.

Nadia Ksabia is from London’s “And Did We Mention Our Disco”, which has quite sadly just ended. Our Disco started in Plastic People before being thrown out for becoming too popular. Venues therefafter have never really matched up. She played alongside Rory Philips — possibly the most self important man I’ve ever met. Den Odell is much nicer. RIP Our disco. Look after Nadia when she comes up. X

Spoke to the guys over at Naive Melody (Where she is playing) and they have a nice interview with the lady herself now available on their site.
Go check it out, you can find a direct link to their site from the WE LIKE section (scroll down on the RH side of the page).
Looking forward to hearing her play… :-)

Interesting interview with Nadia - -she mentions The Star round the corner from me here in Bethnal Green, recently opened by James & Jim from Horse Meat — main night being “Cock Soup” nonetheless.

My point: When are you chaps going to come down and play in East London?

P.S. In fact I may get myself some “Cock Soup” tonight after a curry on Brick Lane.

We’ve been asked to play at Visions Video Bar on 20/12 but were planning to put a party on in Manchester (With guest) on the same evening.
Depending on venue we could be in Dalton.
I’m sure that curry house has been mentioned on the forum… :-)
