Me on mixing duties again this week but this one is about as far away from last week’s as you are ever likely to get.
A 70 minute plus collection of slowed down techno, pitched up downtempo and ethnic sounds. There’s some re-edits, a couple of disco-y numbers in there and some Afrobeat.

Ace, absolutely ace. But it’s got me scratching my head trying to recall tune titles – tracklist por favor?
Interesting aside: South African kwaito (which is getting some spotlight in the slipstream of the massive Mujava tune) owes a heavy debt to 45s played at 33 (’cause beer bumps booties in the townships rather than ecstasy and other uppers). Down here this sloooooooow spin on proceedings is called Midtempo, and a few collections devoted to it have been platinum sellers. None sound this wicked though – so well done from sunny SA.

I might have a look into Kwaito. I can honestly say I’d never heard of it.
And nice to hear we’ve got some South African listeners.
I’ll try to get a tracklist up this week.

It’s Wax Stag. Off their album released in 2008 on ‘Hole in the Sky’.
