This week’s guest mix comes courtesy of San Fran’s Black Shag & BT Magnum who run one of our favourite Underground Disco & Boogie blogs in Beat Electric.
Specialising in Boogie, Rare Disco, Laser Soul and Proto House the guys have been posting insightful and informative articles on some of the rarer black orientated dance music from the last 30-odd years. Another great feature of this blog is their attention to detail in the equipment they use when recording their selections. Utilising the trusty Technics 1200 MKII with an Origin Live OL1 (Rega RB-250) tonearm with internal rewire and structural upgrade, Eichmann copper bullets, fitted with a Grado DJ 200i cartridge all running through a Clearaudio Micro Basic Phono Stage. Nice.
Their Cosmic Disco ‘Ride My Spaceship’ mix is indicative of the guys DJ sets over latter part of last year in addition to some of the tracks posted on their blog.
