Ryan started working for Manchester record labels Players and Estate Recordings at the age of 19, doing the jobs that no-one else wanted to do. Throughout this time Ryan did the odd bit of work at gigs for Mr. Scruff and RSL before being asked to produce a radio show, which was started to promote the newly founded sister label, Vox Pop 45s. The show grew rapidly and was broadcast worldwide on five internet channels and featured guests including Quantic, Mr. Scruff, Monk One and DJ Emskee, Natural Self, Jon Kennedy, Rob Luis, Nostalgia 77, Andy Votel, Hugo Mendez and Miles Cleret, Treva Whateva and many more.
Remember the name because Ryan may just be starting to write his own chapter in the history of music in Manchester with his knowledge of music that belies his age coupled with his ability to challenge and entertain dance floors in equal measures the future is looking very promising for this young jazz maverick.
Ryan is also one of the heads behind Hoya:Hoya which will be taking over the coveted last Saturday of the month slot at the Music Box previously held by
As usual, entrance to Manchester’s ‘Bar of The Year’ is free and with one of the city’s best selection of imported beers available, make sure you join us down at Trof on Friday 25th where Ryan will be showing us more of his accomplished DJ talents. I couldn’t possibly add anything on top of what you already wrote Marc. That and Ryan is only just turned 13 so there’s not much on the information superhighway…
Not that I did a last minute post or anything so scrupilous
I decided to break my IAudio player (Xmas gift from the missus) within the 1st week and Uber-recording-geek Niles aint gonna be there so you’ll have to take our word that Ryan was on form…
