Pepper’s Xmas Kickback
Posted on 24. Dec, 2007 by baggy in Mixes we didn't make
Good friend of Cosmic Disco Sam Pepper this year decided to put together some music and share it with his friends instead of sending out Xmas cards, which we thought was rather a nice idea.
Sam Pepper was part of the original team that were responsible for one of Manchester’s cutting edge Hip Hop and Freestyle clubs a few years back in SubTub which brought luminary DJ’s such as Q-Bert and DJ Woody together for the first time as well as being the melting pot that gave MC’s like Killa Kella, Broken English and even groups such as RSL their first breaks as well as having a helping hand managaing thier early careers. This mix of DJ’s, Bands, Breakers, Skaters with live visuals is now regarded within legendary status in the Manchester region. Subtub later went on to put out material on their SubTub Players record label which later spawned VoxPop Music/45’s (Tim Giles) to further spread it’s influence around the country.
After giving the mix a good airing at Cosmic HQ and knowing how good a DJ Sam is, we asked if we could share these fine selections with our avid listeners who we thought would greedily snap up this excellent mix just in time for Xmas.
Featuring choice cuts of Reggae, Downbeat, Electronica, Hip Hop, Soul and even a smattering of D&B.
Kickback indeed, thanks Sam!

Love the blog lads – is there any chance you can add a fellow Manchester music blog to your. In return we will add you on ours?
Haydn and myself will have to come down to one of your nights in the new year.
Cheers,
Tom.
