Back to our house - Key 103 Manchester
The now defunct “Back to our House” show on Key 103 was the highlight of Saturday night radio in Manchester. Hosted by Andy Price and Crooky, it featured upfront house music every week with regular guest mixes from DJs around the UK and abroad.
I first played on the show back in 2002 around the time when I started playing downstairs at the Redlight in Sankeys. I’ve got the mix somewhere complete with an interview about the forthcoming parties at Sankeys. I’ll share that when I find it.
In the Summer of 2003 Andy Price asked me to come back, I was playing at Sankeys the same night, so I headed over to Key 103 and played for an hour or so and then jetted across town to Sankeys. The mix is low quality as it was recorded straight from the radio to tape. There’s also a few records towards the end of the mix that skipped which I really did need happening live on the radio.
A lot of the records in the last 30 minutes of the mix featured at Sankeys later on that night. I remember it being a hot Summer night and the club was full, great music, ace people. Hazy days.
I’ll share the tracklist over the weekend. I’ve got some mixes from the Redlight at Sankeys which I’ll get on the site over the next few weeks as well.
Enjoy.
